Elementary School
On the May 2007 Stanford Achievement Test Series, Tenth Edition (SAT10),
- Selected students scored at the 94th percentile in English Language Arts and at the 96th percentile in math.
Middle School
On the May 2007 Stanford Achievement Test Series, Tenth Edition (SAT10),
- Selected students scored at the 84th percentile in English Language Arts and at the 95th percentile in math.
- For the first time in February, 2008, students in Grades 5-8 took the California Standards Equivalency Test (measuring them against other students in California). 67% of the students scored Proficient or Advanced in English Language Arts and 42% scored Proficient or Advanced in Math, regardless more than half of the students are non-native English speakers.
High School
On the May 2007 Stanford Achievement Test Series, Tenth Edition (SAT10),
- Selected high school students scored at the 98th percentile in English Language Arts and at the 94th percentile in math.
- For the first time in 2007-2008, high school students took the California High School Exit Exam Equivalency Test. 83% of the students passed the English Language Arts test. 72% of the students passed the Math test. High school students are given six opportunities within their sophomore, junior and senior years to pass the exam, and PLBS students passed the exam the first time.
- 80% of all students earn 200+ hours of community service by the time they graduate;
- The entire class of 2006 received National Merit Recognition; 50% of the class of 2007 received this recognition;
COLLEGE SUCCESS
- The members of the class of 2007 were accepted at: UC Berkeley, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, Cal State East Bay, Cal State San Francisco, Cal State San Jose, Cal State Long Beach, & Cal State Sonoma.
- One of the 2007 graduate received a Regent’s Scholarship Award to the University of California.
- The members of the class of 2006 graduates were accepted by UCLA, UC Davis, UC San Diego, UC Santa Barbara, Cal State San Jose, Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
- The members of the class of 2005 graduates were accepted by UC Santa Cruz and UC San Diego.
- The members of the class of 2004 graduates were accepted by UC San Diego, UC Davis, San Francisco State and San Jose State.
- The 2003 graduate was accepted by UC Berkeley.
